Q: What is Intwined Pattern Studio?
A: Intwined Pattern Studio is fun, powerful, affordable, easy-to-use software for designing patterns and charts for knitting, crochet, cross-stitch, lace, and weaving. For a more complete list of features, click here.
Q: Can I sell the patterns I create?
A: Yes, the Intwined Pattern Studio license lets you sell or share your designs in blogs, email, or however you want. Intwined Studio produces graphics images suitable for publishing in books or magazines. Because we use SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics), all Intwined Pattern Studio graphic images can be enlarged (or "blown up") to any size, and never "turn into pixels".
Q: Is Intwined available for both Macintosh and Windows?
A: Yes, Intwined Pattern Studio runs on both Apple Macintosh and Microsoft Windows, specifically Mac OS X version 10.4 through 10.6, and Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. Intwined runs on both 32-bit and 64-bit Mac and Windows.
Q: Can the same pattern design file be opened on Windows and Mac?
A: Yes, the same Intwined pattern file (KIT file) can be shared between the Macintosh and Windows version of Intwined. There is no "conversion" process necessary.
Q: Can I buy just one copy to install on my Desktop and my Laptop?
A: Yes, Intwined Pattern Studio is licensed "per user" , not "per computer", so you can buy one copy, and install it on every computer you own, including all of your desktops, laptops, and netbooks, etc.
Q: If I buy a copy of Intwined for my Windows PC, can I switch to the Mac version later without buying the Mac version of the software?
A: Yes, if you bought the Windows version, and want to switch to Mac, or visa-versa, just email us and we will send you a free link to download the other version.
Q: If my computer crashes, can I re-install it on a new computer without having to buy it again?
A: Yes you can. If you need to re-install Intertwined Pattern Studio from scratch, you can log-in to the intwinedstudio.com website and download the software again. Just go to the "My Account" link in the right column on the website, and then go to the "Files" section. You will need the Serial Number that was emailed to you when you originally purchased the software.
Q: After I download the software, can I copy it onto a CD as a Backup?
A: Yes, you can make backup copies of the Intwined Pattern Studio installer program on a CD, or whatever media you prefer. This is permitted by our software license. If you lose your backups, you can also download the software again, by logging onto the website and following the links to "My Account", and "Files".
Q: What is my Serial Number?
A: Your Intwined Pattern Studio serial number is required as part of the software installation process. This number is automatically sent to you at the email address you provide when you purchase the software online. Some users have reported to us that these emails have ended up in their spam/junk mail folder. The "subject" line of the email is "File Downloads For Order #...", and the serial number format looks like: "0000-1234-5678". If you can't find it, you can email us at support@intwinedstudio.com, and we can look it up based on your name, email address, and date of purchase. After you have installed the software, you will only need this number to install it on another computer, or to reinstall after a hard-disk crash.
